About the Role
Responsibilities:
• Perform repair of power equipment in field as needed (tires, alternators, hydraulics, etc.)
• Perform clutch, carburetor, alternator and gearbox repairs and adjustments
• Skillfully completes engine overhauls and tune-ups of both gas and diesel engines
• Repair and maintenance on brake systems for both hydraulic and air brakes
• Conduct transmission, differential and driveline repairs on both manual and automatic transmission
• Service local equipment (oil, lube, filters, water, etc.), fuel field equipment, and maintain service records
• Weld and fabricate, as needed
• Perform equipment evaluation with preventive maintenance in mind
• Actively assist in keeping essential tools, filters, and parts available for shop use
• Familiarity with safety devices and emergency shutdown procedures, including hydro plant, reservoir
• Assist with farm duties such as machine-harvesting, mowing, irrigating, pruning, etc.
• Attend and actively participate in regular safety meetings and trainings
Requirements
3+ years of experience in maintenance with various types of mechanized automation and system controls
High School Diploma or equivalent. Advanced education or industry-related training/certifications desired
Must have own tools
Basic mechanical aptitude with some applicable training or experience
Valid (clean) in-state driver's license
Ability to operate a variety of farm equipment
Strong demonstrated problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills. Bilingual Spanish a plus
Ability to work overtime (averaging 55-60hrs per week), nights, weekends and rotating shifts as required. Weekends and nights a must during harvest time
Able to meet the physical requirements of the role which involves, but is not limited to heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and twisting repetitively throughout work shift
Able to work outside in year-round weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain
About the Company
We are a family-owned company who values its employees. Located in Northern California, we primarily grow wild rice, timothy, orchard grass, and wheat. Reporting directly to and taking daily direction from the Farm Manager, team members are cross trained in all areas of growing and harvesting, which allows for our small team of skilled workers to easily adapt during peak season. Our season generally runs from March to November with May-October being our busiest months (Jun-Aug over-time is required).
